Many people are using meditation today to gain control over their mind, quiet wandering thoughts, restore their peace of mind, reduce stress, and get closer to God. Meditation can be practiced in a variety of ways from using a guided meditation recording, concentrating on your breathing, or silently repeating sacred word or phrase often called a mantra.
A mantra is similar to an affirmation in that it is a word or phrase that represents a specific meaning you would like to focus on. It can be a scriptural passage, positive statement, or a spiritual principle that has meaning or is relevant to your life or current situation. Mantras are used to bring your attention back to God or the present moment each time you catch your mind drifting off.
Affirmations and meditation often go hand in hand. Some examples of mantras that are similar to affirmations would be, “I am filled with joy”, “I trust God completely”, “everything I touch prospers”, “I am happy and whole”, or “all is well in my life.” As you repeat these positive affirmations during meditation, they become infused within your spirit as well as your unconscious mind.
In addition to using affirmations during meditation, they can be used during other times of the day as well. If most people took an inventory of what they were thinking, they would find that many of their thoughts are fear-based and destructive Jesus A Course in Miracles . Affirmations help to uproot negative self talk by replacing your unhealthy repetitive thoughts with statements that are encouraging, uplifting, and filled with truth. I often encourage people to listen to or read affirmations while preparing for work, driving in their cars, cooking meals, or even drifting off to sleep.
This article is two-fold. First we go over how to overcome the suffering caused by pain. Then we will discuss practical methods to help deal with the physical pain we all experience at one time or another.
Pain is always of the physical body. It has its roots in the nervous system. It can only exists when the body has come under injury or disease. Pain in this sense is very simple and basic. It is the firing of pain receptors.
Pain is the start of a lot of peoples suffering. Suffering is different from pain. Suffering happens in the mind not in the body. Suffering is when the mind thinks negative thoughts and creates stories or drama around events or situations. Drama, with pain as its main actor, is the most common source of suffering in this world. During meditation we sit in silence and focus on a single object such as the breath or a word (mantra). Doing this allows us to watch the minds habitual thought patterns. As we meditate we can sort though the drama our minds create. Sorting though drama as it is happening is wonderfully liberating. It allows us to take a step back from our drama and creates some space between us and the stories our minds generate. Creating space between you and the story is the first step in freedom from suffering.
Meditation is a simple process, but it needs to be practiced with diligence and consistency to be effective. Even a little bit of this practice is beneficial. Practicing sporadically will only give minimal results at best though. Sitting quietly in a focused manner for as little as 10-15 minuets a day will begin to clear the mind of old outdated mental clutter. Clearing the mind of its habitual and recurring thoughts is the first sign of progress in meditation.

This sets the base very nicely to take matters in your own hand, live your life to its extreme with your own rules and never look back. If anyone can follow these two simple sayings they will enjoy the quality of life parallel to none.

The total perspective of life depends on what you know about it; even when you witness so many people just wandering helplessly along and refusing to educate themselves. If one puts enough effort in educating himself/herself, the quality of life and how you live life will radically change.
• Taking good care of the body:
Life is as good as the body you live in; still you witness so many people intentionally doing things to it which can seriously damage it. Too many people don’t know that how you live your life can be summarized by how you appear physically and what state of mind you live in. If someone wants to live a good life they have to take good care of the body, they have to make sure it’s properly rested and is getting proper exercise.
People who lack this essential ingredient of life know nothing about how to live life. This is one thing which makes you cherish each and every moment of life. It makes you feel more alive, to work harder, to achieve in life what really matter to you and to your loved ones. This alone is one thing if properly understood will make the quality of life much better.
